Retirees Corner 01/2010

NEW LOCATION: Starting in March of 2010 the Retirees will meet at Antone’s (not Mr. Anthony’s) on the corner of Market St (Route 7) and Western Reserve Rd in south Boardman.  The first meeting will be on Monday, March 1, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. Doors will open at 10:00 a.m. for coffee and conversation.

How do I get there?  If you are coming from the south, follow Route 7 North to Western Reserve Rd, Antone’s will be on the north corner.  If you are coming from Austintown area you can follow 224 to Market St and go south on Market or take 680 to Western Reserve Rd, turn right and go to Market Street.

Coming from PA, take 80 to 680 South to Western Reserve Rd to Market Street.  Coming from Warren and Cortland follow 11 South to the 711 Connector follow 711 to Route 680 (toward Pittsburgh) to Western Reserve Rd to Market Street.

COBRA OFFER: Notices have gone out for Dental and Vision Cobra Coverage.  The notice should answer any questions that you may have.  If after carefully reviewing the notice you still have questions, call the enrollment # at 800-489-4646.

SURVIVING SPOUSES: Since we are going through changes in Health Care, Dental and Vision coverage a lot of surviving spouses are not sure how the changes apply to them.   The short version is as follows:

• Surviving spouses are entitled to 65% of the basic pension received by the retiree unless you previously waived surviving spouse coverage.
• Health care – you will continue to be covered under the spouse coverage but you must change the coverage to your name by calling 1-800-489-4646.
• Surviving spouses are entitled to the same dental and vision coverage under COBRA as the spouse would have been entitled to.
