Health Care Changes

All the health care changes should start in April, 2006, it will affect those of us whose annual GM pension benefit is $8,000 or less, or any pension participant whose basic GM Pension Plan Benefit Rate is $33.33 or lower. If you are included in the changes, GM will send an application to authorize pension check-off to pay the monthly contribution. If you fail to complete the check-off and return it to GM, GM will send you notice 14-21 days prior to the due date. If you fail to pay the monthly contribution by the due date, you will be classified a "non-participant'" and be placed into the Catastrophic Plan. To get back into the Modified Plan, you must call GM Benefits and request enrollment into the Modified Plan (1-800-489_4646). The Catastrophic PIan has no monthly contribution, but your deductibles and co insurances will be around 10 times more expensive.

This material should be mailed around March or April. Pay close attention to your mailings. Don't let yourself get into a situation that could cost you a lot of money.
