Thank You:  The Strickland family would like to thank you for your thoughts and prayers during the passing of their father/grandfather.  Ben returned from bereavement on Monday, April 29th.

Short Work Week:  This past week our membership has experienced several days of short work hours. As your elected bargaining unit we strive to protect our memberships’ 40 hour work week. At times due to circumstances beyond everyone’s control that does not happen; this past week was the perfect example of that. The UAW/GM National agreement provides a Short Work Week Benefit for those members eligible to receive it. There have been many questions concerning this benefit and your bargaining unit in actively pursuing each of these issues on a case by case basis. As information becomes available your leadership will communicate it as soon as possible.

Lordstown Automated Notification Service

Written by Jim Stanton on .

Information in an Emergency

Want to get the most up-to-date information in an emergency or business disruption at Lordstown?

A new Automated Notification System (ANS) is available to hourly and salaried employees, and contract workers.

The service will help communicate about unusual circumstances such as business interruptions, emergencies, or when workplace access might be impacted. Optional message delivery formats include phone calls, e-mails and texts.

It's easy to receive alerts that may impact you.

–        Enter your personal cell phone, home phone, and/or personal email in the self registration portal off the home page of Socrates/My Socrates under Quick Links. The link is Automated Notification System Registration.

Your information will be collected by Send Word Now (SWN) Communications Inc., a third party administrator of GM’s Automated Notification System.  Your personal contact Information will be used by Send Word Now solely for the purpose of carrying out its obligations to GM.

SWN is an industry leader in emergency notification systems with safeguards in place to keep data provided by employees secure.

This ANS system is being introduced this year at GM sites throughout the United States and will be a major step forward for GM’s urgent, non-routine communications with employees. And it will complement other existing plant communication systems.
