Sergeant-at-Arms
UAW Local 1112
Born in Sharon, Pa., Dave graduated in 1969 from West Middlesex High School. In January 1970, he enlisted in the United States Air Force. Airman Wilcox then served approximately 2 years stationed at Grand Forks Air Force Base in North Dakota. Upon returning from his 13 month tour of duty in Kunsan, Korea, Sergeant Wilcox was honorably dishcharged in August 1973.
In October of that same year, Dave was hired by Fisher Body Fabricating and became a member of UAW Local 1714. In the fall of 1977 the Vega had become a car of the past, and soon the Monza became the car of the future for Lordstown. With the decrease of manpower at Fisher Body, he then became employed by Lordstown Assembly and joined the membership of UAW Local 1112.
After attending monthly union meetings, Dave became a member of our Local's Veterans Committee. Currently he is serving his second term as UAW Local 1112's Sergeant -at-Arms.
Dave now resides in Newton Falls along with his wife Debbie (a retiree of Local 1112). They are the parents of twin daughters Jennifer and Heather. Dave and Debbie are also the proud grandparents of David and Edison.
Dave would like to encourage you to "Buy American!"
