Union Dues Increase:  The International Union has asked us to open up dialog with our members concerning the International UAW finances moving forward. They have asked us to speak with members concerning a possible dues increase. At our November meeting, we had a very informative discussion about this issue. The topic is very complex and includes strategy, long term goals, Right to Work issues and potential changes to local union’s finances. As more information becomes available about the issue, we will continue to share that information with our members at our Union meetings.  Please make it a point to attend as we have and will continue to cover the topic at our union meetings. Our next meeting is December 15, 2013, at 10:00 a.m. We hope to see you there.

PMP is your Safety Net:  It is sometimes easy to take our work area for granted. Whether we have been on a job forever or brand new to the job we can miss potential safety issues.  Your PMP (preventive maintenance procedure) is there to assure your job station is free from hazards.

Some issues that you look for:

            Torn Matting on the floor

Protective sleeves on gun sockets and extensions

            Proper lighting

            Spills on floor

Be sure to check your specific PMP for your job. It's for YOUR safety.
